I was born in Ankara in 1961. I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Ege University in 1984. Between 1990 and 1995, I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Microbiology at 9 Eylül University.

Since 2004, I have been involved in the private sector in the operation of private medical laboratories and the import of laboratory equipment and supplies.

I am one of the founders of Akcan Ltd., Diakim Medical Ltd., Gazi Private Hospital, and Ege Detay Private Laboratory.I have served as a board member of the Aegean Suppliers Association, Altay Sports Club, Aegean Healthcare Institutions Association, and the Infectious Diseases Association. I currently serve as chair of the Health Professionals Group Committee at the Izmir Chamber of Commerce.
